Lindell Digital is Joe VanDeventer, a freelance Web programmer living in Chicago who tends to use the editorial “we” when writing about his company, and the third person when writing about himself. He’s been creating content on the Web since before the days of Netscape. (Kids, ask your grandparents about Netscape.) His first professional programming job was in high school, writing discussion forums, e-card services, and fun stuff like that.
He stepped it up in college, rewriting the website of Michigan State University’s student newspaper to be an automated, MySQL database-backed Web application that allowed reporters to just upload their Quark files and hit “Publish”.
Before freelancing, he spent his most recent years working for Network Ninja writing a piece of software named “LegalServer” that handles all aspects of case management for legal aid firms, from online calendaring software that keeps track of an attorney’s case load, to automatically generating PDF information packets to send to clients, to electronically transferring cases between different agencies.
When he’s not programming, Joe likes working on personal graphic design projects, bicycling, movies, and volunteer tutoring at the unspeakably awesome 826CHI.
